Susie Hoffmann – Director
Susie joined Lake Forest Open Lands in June 2009 to develop the educational initiative that has become the Center for Conservation Leadership, and is currently the director of the program. She has previously worked as the Director of the Summer Program for Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development and developed after school and summer enrichment programs for Lake Forest School District 67. Susie received a BA in Classics from Skidmore College and an MBA from New York University. She and her husband reside in Lake Forest where they raised their four children – all budding conservationists in their own right.
John Sentell – President, Lake Forest Open Lands
John joined Lake Forest Open Lands Association in September, 2010, as the 4th President in its 45 year history. He was previously the Executive Director of The Wetlands Initiative. A dedicated conservationist and passionate flyfisherman, John began his career in marketing and advertising at Campbell-Ewald Advertising and the Leo Burnett Company. He continues to serve on the board of The Wetlands Initiative and is also on the board of the Biodiversity Project. John graduated with a degree in business administration from Miami University, Oxford, OH. When not fly-fishing in Montana and northern Michigan, John resides in Lake Forest with his wife and two children.
