GET INVOLVED WITH THE COMMUNITY

There are opportunities to get involved with many local organizations that help spread stewardship.

Lake Forest Open Lands Association has several Community Volunteer Opportunities focusing on land restoration through invasive plant removal. They also have a Land Steward Program that lets you get more involved by joining a network of like-minded volunteers that help monitor and maintain LFOLA preserves.

There are many opportunities to help out your Lake County community. There are opportunities that fit most interests - from Adopt a Highway, Forest Preserves, Government Agencies, to becoming a licensed amateur radio operator and helping assist with local emergencies. Calling all adventurers! Join us on Sunday, January 28 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Gorton Community Center, Lake Forest for an afternoon of adventure films  from the MountainFilm on Tour Festival and learn how you and your family can engage with the outdoors! Experience Mountainfilm shorts curated specifically for the whole family to enjoy and then visit our expo to learn more about the outdoor adventure and environmental opportunities in Lake County.
